In the summer term Swallows, Kingfishers and Swans visited the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth. At the sea life centre there were lots of marine creatures to explore, with the gliding sea dragons, the floating jellyfish and the snapping turtles being firm favourites.
As well as the many things to see the brave children were able to touch crabs and starfish in the interactive rock pool talk.
We all enjoyed going in the undersea ocean tunnel where we saw turtles, rays and sharks swimming over our heads.
Some groups also went to watch the turtles, rays, penguins and otters being fed. They found it fascinating.
We were lucky with the weather as it had been raining the day before and on the morning of our trip it was dry but a bit cold. By lunchtime the sun had come out and we enjoyed a lovely warm afternoon at the centre.
The Sea Life Centre gave Key Stage 1 an exciting insight into their topic of ‘Ocean and Seas’. Throughout this topic the children have be really enthusiastic about their learning. The Sea Life Centre played a significant role in this!
