On Tuesday 26th January Year 5 and Year 6 had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with some adults from the Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust. The topic for this session was cooking with locally produced and sourced food. Mary Reader ran the session and the children watched two chefs prepare two dishes. After this the children were split into groups and each group prepared some dishes. All the children thoroughly enjoyed helping to prepare the food and after all the preparation came the chance to taste the product of all their hard work! Many of the children agreed that before this session they would not have eaten a lot of these ingredients by choice, however now having helped to prepare and cook them in this tasty and healthy way they thought it tasted delicious and all were keen to try everything! A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all and who knows, we may even have some Masterchefs of the future!
