On Thursday 14th June year 4 had a brilliant trip to Montacute House– it was a long journey !
When we arrived at the huge driveway, there were loads of wibbly wobbly hedges. Then we stepped into the Tudor house … everyone noticed all the amazing portraits! We visited all three floors of the huge mansion and we really loved the long gallery where the people used to walk up and down to exercise.
Our kind guides then took us to take part in some activities. We found out about making spice bags in the kitchen, drawing miniature portraits in the long gallery and some people dressed up as rich and poor Tudor people.
After a picnic in the stables we explored the gardens where we saw the ice house and the little houses where they used to eat their puddings. We learnt such a lot about the Tudors it was an amazing day!
