Journeying in the Faith – new beginnings

New Beginnings

– a new school year at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.   2 Corinthians 5:17

Prayers for the start of the school year

 God our Father,

We thank you for the opportunity

to begin this new school year.

Bless our school family

 our children, staff, parents

 and governors.

We pray that we may continue

to remember that we are all God’s children

and will try to live, love and work as Jesus taught us

(School Mission Statement)

We pray that you will guide us in all ways,

so that we will seek your will

in everything that we do.

May we find spiritual transformation in this school year,

with the year being more than simply the accomplishments

of tasks and projects.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

In the new school year may we remember
Today’s decisions shape tomorrow’s outcomes
That living each moment the best we can
Creates a harmonious life.

May we remember
By holding fast to integrity
Others see we are trustworthy.

When times are rough
May we remember to turn in
To our close and ready source of comfort.

As we start a new school year at St Joseph’s
May we remember that each new moment
Can be a fresh beginning.

And may we especially remember that
Personal peace preserved leads to
World peace, well deserved.”

God be in my Head

As we begin the new school year let us remember God is never far…

God be in my head, and in my understanding;

God be in my eyes, and in my looking;

God be in my mouth, and in my speaking;

God be in my heart, and in my thinking;

God be at my end, and at my departing.

 Amen

St Joseph’s School Prayer

At the beginning of this new school year we turn to God our father with our school prayer

Dear Heavenly Father

Friends of all children

Bless our school here in Christchurch

Bless the pupils and the staff who work here.

You chose St. Joseph to be the father of Jesus.

Help us to serve you as he did, and to live, love and work

as Jesus taught us.

  Amen.
