At St Joseph’s our hot school meals are provided by Chartwells. Children have a choice between the Main Dish option, the Vegetarian option or the Jacket Potato option. If your child goes on a day trip with their class they will also have the option of having an “Away Day Packed Lunch” to take out with them but these need to be arranged by contacting Chartwells directly by phone.
All ordering is done online via the Chartwells website – follow the links below to see the current menu and register your child.
Free School Meals
All state funded infant school children (i.e, those in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are entitled to receive Free School Meals. Please note that if you wish to take advantage of the free school meals provision you must make sure that you register in plenty of time and order the meals for your child online. Meals are cooked to order so if no order is placed or it is placed too late you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch from home.
Entitlement to free school meals under the Pupil Premium provision is slightly different and it is very important that eligible parents (i.e those in receipt of support payments or allowances) apply for free school meals individually through Dorset County Council. Qualifying families will help raise Pupil Premium money for the school which is vital as it goes towards those children’s extra educational resources. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals you need to indicate when registering. Before you can go on and order meals for your child however Chartwells will have to verify the entitlement. You will receive a confirmation email to say that it is ok for you to order a meal, once they have confirmed the entitlement.
