We have been very lucky in Year 4 to take part in two very exciting sporting events.
On Wednesday 23rd January, Year 3 and 4 travelled on the coach to St. Peter’s, Iford, to take part in a cross country event with eight other primary schools. Once we got there, we put our coats and bags down and met our instructors.
It was freezing cold and we had to run 700m around the track, which is about 3 laps around our playground! Year 3 were the first to have their turn. We all cheered for them. They did really well and won the shield. Next, it was Year 4’s turn. We did really well; Pietro won the race. Sadly, we didn’t win the shield, but we all had lots of fun.
Well done to everyone who took part.
By Celestina and Pietro.
In our first match, the awesome A team which was: Sophia and Megan as subs;Nyasha in defence; Ben and Benedict in midfield; and Daniel and Leon up front. We got off to a good start by scoring a goal. Sadly, the other team scored 2 goals making the final score 2-1.
In the B teams first match which was: Holly and Charlie as subs; Natalia and Celestina in defence; Pietro in midfield; and Christian and Rees up front. They stormed in a goal in 2 minutes. Suddenly, the other team edged in a goal and then another, leaving the score 2-1.
After a while, we had a break and did a dribbling workshop. Luckily we had some more matches to try and win. Eventually, we won a match – the final one. Natalia scored a goal; Pietro scored another and Charlie scored the last goal leaving the score 3-1. Obviously we left the best till last! We all had a great time and thank you to Mrs Clifford for organising it all. Well done St. Joes!!!!!
