The week before May half term was Active Lifestyles Week here at St Joseph’s, the pinnacle of which was our Sports Day. During the week we also participated in the National Walk to School initiative and operated a “Walking Bus” every morning from The Somerford to the school. Children participated in a range of other activities during the week which provided additional opportunities to increase physical activity levels. We were also very fortunate to welcome Mrs Palmer from the National Parks Association who delivered an assembly about how to enjoy our wonderful New Forest and how to look after and preserve it for future visitors. Each class then had a workshop with her on an aspect of the New Forest. One of the highlights of the week however was Fruit Kebab and Smoothie Making! The children made some wonderful fruit kebabs and smoothies which were healthy as well as very tasty! Check out our Gallery page to see them enjoying these activities!
